With only a month quickly approaching until opening day, many items still have to be taken care of. One of these things were accomplished this past week as we have brought aboard a broadcaster and Director of Media Relations for the summer season. Alexander (Zander) Kean, graduating from the University of Miami in May, will be broadcasting all 29 home games on the CPL Webpass throughout the summer. We are very excited to bring Zander to Morehead City for our inaugural season.
In other news, Buddy Bengel and I were invited to attend the first annual Tree City Fair in Pine Knoll Shores this past Saturday. From 3pm - 6pm we were available to answer any questions and greet many Marlins fans. We had merchandise for sale, schedules, notepads, other pertinent information that were handed out. Luckily the rain did hold off for most of the afternoon, but it did detract from the festivities a little bit. Overall, it was a great chance for the Marlins to make another appearance and share in environment appreciation.
